Mandatory training

Delivering safe, clean and personal care is a core focus and goal for our organisation.

To help us achieve this goal, we need to know that our people have the required skills to deliver care of the highest standard.

Our mandatory training policy, processes and systems have been developed over a period of time with the help of staff, and designed to be easy to use and understand.

Initially, colleagues moving into the ICO from Salford City Council will only be required to complete a small set of core skills assessments within the first 100 days.

Beyond that, we will work with you and your managers to identify the core skills you need so that we can add these to our systems to ensure we continue to develop as an organisation delivering both health and social care.

Mandatory training covers subjects such as fire safety, health and safety, conflict resolution, equality and diversity and many others. You won’t be required to work through or attend a class-based course to demonstrate your competence; providing you can pass the simple skills check assessment online, there’s no need to access any further learning.

However, we do of course provide access to a range of learning materials and resources should you need to learn a subject or ensure your knowledge remains up to date.
